  Volunteers

Selby District AVS currently supports volunteering in three ways:-

  • Volunteers help the provision of two AVS frontline services, Community Transport and Daisy Chain domestic violence. If you are interested in volunteering for either of these services please click on the links to read about the service and then follow the contact details. Community Transport. Daisy Chain.
  • As part of the government initiative to increase volunteering, AVS is the Selby District lead for monitoring the change in volunteer numbers for a selection of organisations. The scheme is called Local Area Agreement Stretch Targets and volunteering is one element. If successful at the end of a three year period a financial reward is promised to North Yorkshire County Council to aid the voluntary sector.
  • Organisations are being supported with initiatives to attract volunteers. Regular meetings of organisations who use volunteers are hosted to explore how help can be provided and to develop actions. All organisations are welcome to attend these meetings and to receive information. If you are a volunteer using organisations do not miss out, please add your name to the volunteer network register by emailing the contact below.
